This plugin gives every widget an extra control field called “Widget logic” that lets you control the pages that the widget will appear on. The text field lets you use WP’s Conditional Tags, or any general PHP code. **** this plugin can mis-behave if you have already set the home destination to be a static page – however if you : set the “reading” value to the default setting => disable this plugin => and then re-enable the plugin all the kinks seem to work themselves out. what you see is based on the plugin control panel it will not be a true category view…. meaning that creating a category specific archive layout will not be applied to the front page for the selected category
