Project Challenge:

  • needed to replace and replicate a series of malfunctioning themes
  • consolidate a series of external site into a multi-site
  • forensic analysis of overall structure built by an inaccessible developer
  • diminish need for super-administrator to provide task by task support to child-site editors
  • provide tutorial documents and reference material for child site editors and super administrators

Project Approach:

  • created a new theme including a series of templates and optional fields to replace a theme which relied on broken plugins
  • sanitized, optimized and standardized 20+ external sites and migrated their content into multi-site
  • assessment of plugin use, identification of approaches to replace malfunctioning plugins and set strategy for plugin reduction
  • simplified most common editorial tasks and discontinued the use of shortcodes for layout and queries
  • put tegether two distinct training manuals complete with annotated recipes for doing all anticipated tasks
